“In every dwelling, even the richest, the first task of the phenomenologist is to find the original shell.”

DSC09283Exhibition piece! The title of the work is a quote taken from Bachelard’s; Poetics of space. As my final decision for the piece I painted over the frames- removing the glass- hoping to portray the glossing over of a family that was once there. The magnolia has erased the past and erased the memories. The house reverts back to it’s original shell.
